AI Assistant Disclosure
Effective July 31, 2026 · Version 1.0
Ask Jagua is software, not a person
Ask Jagua is an artificial intelligence assistant. It is not a human being. It is not a doctor, nurse, social worker, care manager, discharge planner, therapist, attorney, financial advisor, insurance agent, or benefits counselor, and it is not supervised by one in real time. It holds no professional license or certification of any kind.
Nothing Ask Jagua tells you is medical, nursing, clinical, legal, financial, insurance, tax, or benefits-eligibility advice. It does not diagnose conditions, assess clinical needs, determine care levels, or decide eligibility for Medi-Cal, VA benefits, long-term care insurance, or any other program.
If you are facing a medical emergency or an immediate safety concern, call 911.
What it does
Ask Jagua answers questions about long-term care options in California, explains how care levels and funding sources work, helps you narrow down facilities by care level, location, and budget, and can schedule a conversation with a human Jagua specialist when you want one.
You can ask for a human at any point, for any reason, and one will be arranged. You never have to talk to the assistant to use our services — ask for a callback, or email info@jagua.ai, and a specialist will contact you directly.
Where its answers come from
Ask Jagua answers only from a defined set of sources and cites them. It does not answer from general knowledge. Its sources are:
- California Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing facility records
- Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services facility data, where applicable
- State inspection and evaluation reports
- Jagua's own published guides and facility profiles
- Information you provide in the conversation
Every substantive answer carries a citation to the source and the date that source was retrieved. If a citation is missing, treat the statement as unverified and ask for the source.
What it will not do
When Ask Jagua does not have a grounded answer, it says so and offers to connect you with a person rather than guessing. It will refuse to give clinical, legal, or financial advice, will not tell you whether a specific person is eligible for a specific benefit, and will not recommend a course of medical treatment.
It will not send your information to any facility. Only you can authorize that, by confirming a specific facility by name.
Where it can be wrong
Public regulatory data is incomplete and lags real conditions. Inspection records may be months old. Availability, pricing, and staffing change constantly and the assistant may not know about a change. Facility-supplied information may be inaccurate. The assistant may misread your question or retrieve the wrong record.
Verify anything that matters before you act on it. Visit the facility. Ask the facility directly. Check the state's records yourself at ccld.dss.ca.gov.
Your conversation is recorded
Conversations with Ask Jagua are stored. Jagua staff may read them to check quality and safety, to fix problems, and to improve the assistant. Conversation content is processed by our AI service provider to generate responses, under a contract that prohibits using your conversation to train their models.
We keep transcripts for 24 months, then delete or de-identify them. You can ask us to delete your conversation sooner at info@jagua.ai. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Please do not paste medical records, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or insurance policy numbers into the assistant. It does not need them and we do not want them.
Our disclosure applies to the assistant too
Facilities pay Jagua a fee when a family we introduce moves in. Ask Jagua tells you this before it makes any introduction, and tells you whether a specific facility has a paid agreement with us. The assistant's ordering of facilities uses the same published methodology as the rest of the Site and does not take payment into account. Full detail is in our Referral Fee and Financial Interest Disclosure.
Reporting a problem
If Ask Jagua tells you something wrong, misleading, or harmful, tell us at info@jagua.ai. We log every report, review it, and correct the underlying content or guardrail. We would rather hear about it than not.
